Many of us are feeling the need to create balance in this time of chaos. Our world has shifted its axis, and we are struggling to maintain our grip. In times like these, we have an opportunity to self-journey, and there are many ways to do this. One way is to use visual templates alongside journaling.
A great tool for this is the Coactive Training Institute "Wheel of Life" worksheet. Please post your "a-ha" moment as a comment!
Here are the steps.
Print worksheet or recreate the wheel in your notebook.
If the categories provided aren't "right," change them up! For example, spirituality/faith is not a category on this wheel, but it may be for you. Consider replacing or adding sections as needed.
For each of the "pie pieces," shade in your current level of satisfaction, one through 10 (0 = not satisfied / 10 = very satisfied). Don't worry, the goal here isn't to achieve a "10" in each category. If you did, you would explode.
Now, choose 1-3 areas that you would like to change. For each, journal around...
Why did I shade in a [number] in this category?
What's currently working and not working in this area?
What's important about this? What value is being served (or not served)?
What would it look like to be at a 10?
What are one or two things I could do to work towards this? (boom! actions)
Remember, we aren't trying to achieve a perfect circle. You may have to let a little air out of one balloon in order to fill another. Consider where you might need to spend less time in order to take action in the areas of focus.
